Shimano Firmware Update – May(and March) updates

Update your firmware!

You may have noticed we skipped the March firmware update news post – that is because it wasn’t all that interesting. The list of May 2019 firmware updates is a bit more extensive, so we’ve taken the time to list all of the updates for you.

In case you were wondering, you can find the updates on the Shimano e-Tube project website. This month features a lot of STEPS / e-bike updates and improves interchangeability between STEPS and Road components.

The updates

The full list of updates is (sorted from most to least interesting):

  • SW-E8000 Firebolt MTB Shifter – 3.1.2 – bug fixes for walk assist and multi-shift function that may not work with long presses
  • SW-M8050 Firebolt MTB Shifter – 3.1.2 – bug fixes for walk assist and multi-shift function that may not work with long presses
  • SM-PCE1 Charger – 3.1.3 – Improved connectability with other products for firmware update
  • EW-EN100 – 4.0.8 – -Adopted for drop handlebar bikes (Road Shift Lever Compatibility)
